We discovered the unbelievable beauty of the Knight Inlet years ago and were desperate to find a way to create an outstanding tour around it. Why so special? Well, this unique floating lodge sits right in the heart of the B.C. wilderness, only accessible by seaplane. Being untouched by human hands, the rest of the fjord is brimming with wildlife and it is all for you. With only a handful of people allowed to stay at the lodge at any one time, you explore in small groups to maximise access to your guide and minimise your impact on the surroundings, meaning you can get up close and personal with the wide array of incredible wildlife living around the fjord. 

Spending time observing the habits of the resident Grizzly Bears is an unforgettable experience, the power and grace, the playfulness and sense of family is a joy to witness. Add to this a fjord brimming with seals, dolphins and the occasional whale that you can kayak amongst and you have a completely unique wildlife adventure that is a once in a lifetime experience. You will explore the vibrant city of Vancouver, the wild, relaxed Vancouver Island and its stunning capital Victoria. And after your break from the modern world in Knight Inlet, we showcase the grandeur of the Sea-to-Sky Highway, full of majestic natural highlights.

This adventure is all about the location, about getting you to experience wild, beautiful places that not many other people have ever heard of. As soon as you touch down in Vancouver, you will be in our very capable hands. We will transfer you to Vancouver for your stay there and help you explore the city. From there you will cruise through the scenic Gulf Islands to Victoria, the capital of Vancouver Island before we transfer you to Campbell River where your seaplane will take you to the glorious middle of nowhere in Knight Inlet. Then after exploring this wild haven, it is back down to Vancouver by seaplane for a final couple of nights, and a world-class tour of Whistler and all the beauty of the Sea-to-Sky highway, before we take you out to the airport to meet your onward flight.

Fitness requirements

Availability

Once booked you should receive a payment confirmation and receipt via email, followed by a booking confirmation normally within 72hrs of making a booking, sometimes this can take a little longer subject to supplier delay

Behaviour

• Please be aware that the booking conditions state that your holiday can be terminated, with no refund, if the behaviour of you or any members of your travelling party does not meet an acceptable standard. Special Notes on Knight Inlet

• Fitness level: A low to moderate level of physical fitness is required for all tours including, but not limited to, the ability to walk 100 – 200 metres on uneven, slippery and or muddy shoreline
• The lodge rooms do not have a telephone or television. A public phone is available. There is no public internet/Wi-Fi at the lodge
• All guests are required to sign a waiver of liability prior to departure
• Guests are allowed one 14 kg bag and a small carry-on on all packages. Any excess luggage is subject to a surcharge of $1 / 0.5 kg (subject to availability, the cost can change without notice). Excess luggage can be stored at the floatplane terminal at no charge
• Daily activities may be modified depending on weather and water level conditions
• Guests will be divided into groups upon arrival at the resort so that you experience the true magnificence of the inlet in small, well-organised teams of a maximum of 8 guests (up to 12 for whale watching)
• Meals: vegetarian, as well as any other special dietary needs, can usually be met with advance notice. All meals are a set menu that changes daily but please advise if you have special requests for dietary or allergy issues
•  It is suggested that you bring casual clothing that can be worn in layers; good walking/trekking shoes (waterproof is best), shorts, and a pair of light gloves (spring /fall). The lodge will provide you with good quality wet weather gear, including rubber boots
