There is no way around it, Angkor Wat is probably the major highlight of this trip. While we pride ourselves on uncovering hidden sides to every location we visit, to skip Angkor Wat to pretend we have discovered something better would just be madness! This set of temples is intricate, mysterious and has just that balance of dilapidated chic to give every visitor the aura of being an explorer. Your morning will be spent exploring Angkor Thom, Bayon, Phimeanakas, and Ta Prohm, each of which is spectacular in its own right, but put them all together and you have the might and majesty of Angkor Wat. 

Away from the mighty temples, we have sought to showcase every other side of Cambodia’s beauty. We spend a day immersed in the rural splendour of the country, visiting little communities and villages, exploring their way of life, enjoying their food and hospitality and really getting to know the Cambodian people. This is essential to the discovery of Cambodia, for while there are many incredible things to see and do, it is the friendliness, openness, and optimism of the Cambodian people that will stay with you long after you leave. 

We also cannot understate just how impressed we are with Phnom Penh. Like Angkor Wat, there is something almost unreal about Phnom Penh, almost as if it is a theme park showcasing the perfect East-Asian city. It has the chaos of a million motorbikes and scooters and people everywhere, but its incredible spires and temples flow effortlessly into its ultra-clean streets and modern buildings. And its riverside is the perfect place to spend your evenings, bursting with a burgeoning gastronomic scene that could rival any of its better-known neighbours.

Your trip begins in Siem Reap in the south of the country. We will explore the Angkors from here, head out to explore the rural side of the country, and have some free time to enjoy this relaxed, modern city before flying up to Phnom Penh. After exploring the beauty of the city and the dark past of the Khmer Rouge, your trip will come to an end and you will be transferred to Phnom Penh airport to meet your onward flights.

Passport & visa requirements

• As border restrictions for countries begin to ease, being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will maximise the number of locations you can visit. • We highly recommend our travellers to look at the current travel restrictions of their destination, speak with a medical professional at least 30 days before departure or get in touch with our team for travel advice.
• Health care such as a doctor’s surgery, dentist and optometrists may not always be accessible on this tour
