This trip is a truly historic and cultural immersion. Trying to pack in this much on a land-based tour would be impossible. On board the timeless chic of the Toum Tiou II river cruiser there are highlights every day as you explore the interior of Cambodia, learning so much about its incredible history, its ancient crafts and its truly delightful people. 

At the start of the tour is the unbelievable wonder of Angkor Wat and the sublime elegance of Siem Reap. Getting up at 430 am on the first day of your vacation might, at first, seem like madness. However, while you watch the burnt orange skies, melt away the purple clouds over the otherworldly spires of this ancient site, you will know you made the right decision. You will then spend the day with your local guide, exploring the sites of Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat. It will be hard not to use up all the space on your memory card on the first day, but do your best, there is so much more to come!

We break the river cruise halfway with a stop in Phnom Penh, a luscious city with an enviable location on the banks of the Mekong. Its golden temples and non-stop vibrance are a sheer joy to be a part of as you are whizzed through the streets to explore its greatest assets. The trip finishes up in Ho Chi Minh City, the capital of Vietnam, where we will show off its incredible architecture and visit the Cu Chi tunnels, famed for their part in the war.

Your trip begins in Siem Reap, home of the incredible Angkor Wat. After time spent exploring this beautiful city and its multitude of wonders, you board your river cruiser and head into the heart of Cambodia. We cruise up the river to Koh Chen, then on to Kampong Tralach before berthing for a few days in golden Phnom Penh. Then it is north towards Vietnam, stopping off in  Chau Doc and Cai Be before arriving in Ho Chi Minh where after some discovery time, the trip will come to its end.

Health & vaccination

• As border restrictions for countries begin to ease, being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will maximise the number of locations you can visit. So whilst you are not legally required to be vaccinated, and it’s also not a requirement to travel with us, it will limit some of the countries that you can visit and may make it harder to travel for the next 12-18 months.
• We highly recommend our travellers to look at the current travel restrictions of their destination, speak with a medical professional at least 30 days before departure or get in touch with our team for travel advice.
• Health care such as a doctor’s surgery, dentist and optometrists may not always be accessible on this tour
• It is advised that you ensure you have adequate health insurance cover as part of your travel insurance
