On a trip this vast and deep, it is hard to condense the highlights into a few paragraphs. There are really three brackets these fall into, History, Nature and Culture.  

You can very easily see how history has shaped these countries, mainly because the effects of more recent events are completely influencing how the culture is today. In Cambodia you will find out more about the tragedies of the Killing Fields and in Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi, the horrors of the Vietnam War. Tough to find out about, but essential to understand how it is shaping the culture. Then there is the ancient history, the grandeur of Angkor Wat, and the hidden beauty of Hoa Lu and My Son. 

Away from the cities nature dominates and we want to ensure you get a true flavour of these countries’ green spaces. Laos is a natural paradise and you will sail down the Mekong and trek through the dense jungles to discover beautiful waterfalls, swimming holes and mysterious caves. In Vietnam, you will explore the lesser-known Tam Coc, often described as Halong Bay on land, with its towers of karst exploding from the ground around you. On the water, you will explore the Vietnamese Mekong and Cambodia’s stunning Tonle Sap Lake by boat. 

Culture is everywhere and we want you to be immersed in it. We will eat locally, take the train across Laos, visit active temples and places of worship, floating villages and dine with local families. Despite the wealth of physical treasures on this trip, the attitudes and way of life of the people is the real gem, the one that you will instantly think of when you close your eyes back at home.

Fly into Luang Prabang to kick off this incredible tour. From the moment you land, you will be in our capable hands and will be transferred to and from every stop. After exploring the city and its wild surroundings you will board the train and travel through Laos to Vientiane and then we fly from there over to Hano to begin the Vietnamese portion of the trip. Your local guide helps you explore Hanoi and Hoa Lu, before you fly down to Hoi An to spend time here and at My Son, and then you finish Vietnam by spending time in Ho Chi Minh City. From here you fly to Phnom Penh before flying to Siem Reap to explore Angkor Wat, and finishing your tour here.

Passport & visa requirements

• All visitors require a passport with a minimum validity of 3 months beyond your return travel date is required for all passengers (including children and infants)
• It is the visitor's responsibility to ensure they are holding the correct and current visa for the countries they are visiting
• If the visitor is a non-Australian passport holder, a valid re-entry visa may be required
• Important: Please start arranging your visa at least 6-8 weeks prior to departure to account for any delays due to consulate operating hours and processing times

Health & vaccination

• As border restrictions for countries begin to ease, being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will maximise the number of locations you can visit. So whilst you are not legally required to be vaccinated, and it’s also not a requirement to travel with us, it will limit some of the countries that you can visit and may make it harder to travel for the next 12-18 months.
• We highly recommend our travellers to look at the current travel restrictions of their destination, speak with a medical professional at least 30 days before departure or get in touch with our team for travel advice.
• Health care such as a doctor’s surgery, dentist and optometrists may not always be accessible on this tour
• It is advised that you ensure you have adequate health insurance cover as part of your travel insurance

Fitness requirements

• Any dietary requirements must be received by DealsAway at least 30 days prior to your scheduled departure date. Failure to provide these details by this date may result in an inability to cater for your requirements

Availability

• All DealsAway trips are available on a request-only basis and are subject to availability. Once booked you should receive a payment confirmation and receipt via email, followed by a booking confirmation normally within 72hrs of making a booking, sometimes this can take a little longer subject to supplier delay

Surcharges
