This trip to the North and South of Thailand is packed with activities, but don’t worry, there will still be time to chill out on the lazy rivers and pristine beaches. This is the full Thai experience, from searching out the perfect bite in the dizzying array of street foods in Bangkok, to tracking elephants in the jungles of the north. There are ancient temples and days spent relaxing on the beaches of Phuket. This is exploring as it should be, so let’s get stuck in.
You will kick off the tour in bustling Bangkok where your local, English-speaking guide will open up the city for you, exploring the culinary treats on the street and discovering the city on the back of a frantic Tuk Tuk and a tranquil longtail boat. You then head north, to Chiang Mai to see a completely different side of Thailand. With Chiang Mai as your base, your guide will take you to the magical temple of Doi Suthep, to track elephants through the jungle in stunning Chang Chill and raft down the majestic Mae Tang River through gorges and thrilling rapids. You finish off in the north with a cycle through the local villages, to sample the cuisine and learn about the crafts on this day immersing yourself in rural Thai culture.
After time in the north, we flip the trip and head to the tranquil beaches of the South, in the James Bond Islands of Phuket. Your local guides will let you into all the local secrets and hidden gems of Phuket, and we add in a thrilling kayak trip through hidden sea caves before giving you a few days off to relax on the beaches and enjoy paradise.
