In Beijing, you'll stand in the vast expanse of Tiananmen Square before entering the magnificent Forbidden City, a sprawling imperial complex that served as the seat of power for centuries. You'll wander through traditional hutongs that reveal a glimpse of old Beijing, visit the beautifully preserved Temple of Heaven and stroll through the elegant grounds of the Summer Palace, where emperors once escaped the bustle of the capital. 

The experience reaches new heights at the Great Wall of China, where ancient stone pathways weave across dramatic mountain landscapes, creating one of the most memorable travel moments anywhere in the world. Standing atop this legendary structure, surrounded by breathtaking scenery and centuries of history, is an experience that will remain with you forever. 

And then there is Xi'an, one of China's oldest and most historically significant cities. Here, you'll encounter the legendary Terracotta Warriors, one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the modern era. Thousands of life-sized soldiers stand silently in formation, each uniquely crafted more than 2,000 years ago to guard China's first emperor in the afterlife. As we say, each location on this trip is so deeply emotional and undeniably memorable, you will have as difficult a job as we do picking your highlight.

Your trip begins in Beijing, where you will spend several days immersed in its cultural wonders.  Then you will transfer by high-speed train to Xi’an and then finish off your trip in Chengdu before being transferred to Chongqing airport to meet your onward connections.

Passport & visa requirements

• All visitors require a passport with a minimum validity of 3 months beyond your return travel date is required for all passengers (including children and infants)

• It is the visitor's responsibility to ensure they are holding the correct and current visa for the countries they are visiting

• If the visitor is a non-Australian passport holder, a valid re-entry visa may be required

• Important: Please start arranging your visa at least 6-8 weeks prior to departure to account for any delays due to consulate operating hours and processing times

Health & vaccination

• As border restrictions for countries begin to ease, being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will maximise the number of locations you can visit. So whilst you are not legally required to be vaccinated, and it’s also not a requirement to travel with us, it will limit some of the countries that you can visit and may make it harder to travel for the next 12-18 months.

• We highly recommend our travellers to look at the current travel restrictions of their destination, speak with a medical professional at least 30 days before departure or get in touch with our team for travel advice.

• Health care such as a doctor’s surgery, dentist and optometrists may not always be accessible on this tour

• It is advised that you ensure you have adequate health insurance cover as part of your travel insurance

Tipping

• Tipping is included in the package.

• Tipping in Asia is customary and an expected element in the tourism industry today as recognition of great service and China is no exception. Many passengers are often uncertain of how much to tip, so we have listed below recommended tipping amounts (payable in local currency):

Guide: ¥65.00 per person, per day.

Driver: ¥30.00 per person, per day.

Porterage: ¥5.00 per usage.

• We also recommend having smaller notes to tip others who offer assistance.

Fitness requirements

• Travellers should have a good level of physical fitness and mobility. They must be able to partake unaided in their chosen activities/package tours/cruise etc. as outlined in the itinerary
  
  

Dietary requirements

• Any dietary requirements must be received by DealsAway at least 30 days prior to your scheduled departure date. Failure to provide these details by this date may result in an inability to cater for your requirements

Availability

• All DealsAway trips are available on a request-only basis and are subject to availability. Once booked you should receive a payment confirmation and receipt via email, followed by a booking confirmation normally within 72hrs of making a booking, sometimes this can take a little longer subject to supplier delay

Surcharges

• Any prices quoted exclude specific costs/measures which may be introduced at a later stage as a result of Government changes due to COVID-19 health and safety restrictions.
