Combine one of the world's great cities, one of the world's most incredible natural sites and a visit to sets from one of the world's most popular film series and you have a five-day adventure you will never forget.
Your trip kicks off in style in the stunning city of Auckland. Probably the most enviable location for any city in the world, Auckland sits on twin harbours surrounded by volcanic plugs and rolling, fertile farmlands. You will get to know the city much better with a all-in tour that explores the vibrant districts, jaw-dropping viewpoints and historical heights of this delightful city.
From Auckland, we will whisk you off to your next stop, the sense-baffling Rotorua, but not before taking you to a whole other world. The Hobbiton estate is a massive 12-acre set used in the Lord of the Rings movies, immaculately preserved and added to, in order to create a wonderful visitor experience. After an immersive tour and lunch at the Green Dragon inn, we will take you to a few other local joys on our way to the eternal wonder of Rotorua.
The town of Rotorua is the jumping-off point for a myriad of experiences. There is the geothermal park for which it is most famous, an incredible wonderland of bubbling mud pools, geysers exploding 20-feet into the sky and pools fringed by dazzling neon colours. As if this wasn’t enough, Rotorua is packed with adventures to get your teeth into. You can fly down a 600m zip line after weaving your way through the treetops of a 120-year-old forest, white water raft down a 7-meter high waterfall, mountain bike, luge or head to Velocity Valley to pack in more adrenaline-filled activities than you can imagine. There is also a phenomenal cultural experience to be had at the New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute, topping your day off with a hearty, traditional hangi meal and ceremony.
Then we transfer you back to Auckland on a coach that winds through the countryside, bringing you back to Auckland.
