Discovering Italy is such a thrill. Almost every little town and village are worth visiting, never mind the incredible cities, so we wanted to create a tour that was more than just a tour. We wanted to create an adventure, to instil that thrill of exploration, of travelling, but with absolutely no hassles. So, we linked up the finest spots in the whole country using the Italian National Rail service. This way you get to travel like a local, to see everyday Italian life and mix with the locals, rather than completely from the window of a coach. 

This style of travel expends to the inclusion of a 48hour Cinque Terre Park Card, which gives you access to the trains that link the UNESCO World Heritage 5 towns, so you can walk a trail to one and get the train home, or on to the next town. We have also included local experts at most points on the tour, ensuring that the trip is brought to life for you and a little wine tasting in Chianti, because it wouldn’t be a visit to Italy without it. 

This wonderful adventure begins in the Italian capital, Rome where you will be met at the airport and transferred to your first hotel. After time exploring Rome and a day trip to Naples and Pompeii, you will board the train and head to Florence. Exploring this fine city and the rolling Tuscan countryside surrounding it, you will then make your way to the coastal city of La Spezia. From here you will explore the stunning Cinque Terre before heading north to discover Milan and Lake Como. Your tour then heads to Venice where your incredible tour of Italy comes to an end.  

We have chosen a blend of 3 and 4-star hotels for your trip around Italy. Each has been selected for its comfort and its proximity to the rail station, so you can simply grab your bags and walk to the rail station to board the train for your next stop. Comfort is key in our choices as after a long day of exploring, you will want to sink into your bed and get a great sleep before doing it all over again.

Passport & visa requirements

• All visitors require a passport with a minimum validity of 6 months beyond your return travel date is required for all passengers (including children and infants)

• If the visitor is a non-Australian passport holder, a valid re-entry visa may be required.

This can happen with little notice so please be prepared for modifications to the route. The order and timing of included activities may also vary from time to time
  
  

Availability

• All DealsAway trips are available on a request only basis and are subject to availability. Once booked you should receive a payment confirmation and receipt via email, followed by a booking confirmation normally within 72hrs of making a booking, sometimes this can take a little longer subject to supplier delay

• In the event that your trip is unavailable for the dates you have chosen, we will contact you by telephone to advise the next available dates
  
  

Surcharges

• Any prices quoted exclude specific costs/measures which may be introduced at a later stage as a result of Government changes due to COVID-19 health and safety restrictions.
