There are obvious highlights on this trip. You are travelling to and through some of the most incredible scenery in a country that is absolutely packed with incredible scenery! The lakes are breathtaking, the towns surrounding them are bustling, full of character, filled with incredible dining opportunities and steeped in history. Verona is sublime, delicate and beautiful in every way, so there are definitely some highlights here. 

However, for us, the real highlight of this trip is the cultural immersion. Travelling by coach to see somewhere is great, it works well and we love to sell them. The only drawback is that you are experiencing everything in a bubble, so while you get to see the country, you don't really get to feel the country. 

Because you are travelling self-guided by train, you get to be in amongst everything, to hear the excited chatter of happy families travelling on holiday, to fall into the rhythm of everyday life.  You will start to drink your morning coffee (cappuccino) standing up, with a small pastry like the locals, you will be jumping on and off local trains, sharing carriages with chatty locals and really experiencing the people of this great country. No matter how many photos of incredible cathedrals/lakes/mountains/pasta dishes you come away with, it is these moments that will remain in your memory forever.

Your trip begins in the Italian capital of chic, Milan. Like every stop on this tour, your hotel will be within walking distance to the rail station, so simply navigate the short walk to the station and you will be on your way to Stresa on the shores of Lake Maggiore. After exploring here, your next overnights will be in the gothic city of Lake Como, before finishing up the tour amongst the delicate beauty of Verona.

• All visitors require a passport with a minimum validity of 3 months beyond your return travel date is required for all passengers (including children and infants)

• As border restrictions for countries begin to ease, being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will maximise the number of locations you can visit. • We highly recommend our travellers to look at the current travel restrictions of their destination, speak with a medical professional at least 30 days before departure or get in touch with our team for travel advice.
• Health care such as a doctor’s surgery, dentist and optometrists may not always be accessible on this tour
